Commonly Found Coat Colors
Mantibabs are a predominantly vibrant species! Their coat colors are most often bright and saturated and it's rare for them to dip into dull or dark tones. Below is an up-to-date chart on the allowance of bab colors, with more in-depth descriptions of the sections further below
Too white for accents: This zone is allowed in moderation for underbellies, spots, and other markings (like stripes, coat patterns, eyebrows, inner ears, etc) and should be the smallest portion of your babs colors. Not available for "accents" which includes cheek circles, horn stripes, ankle/elbow nubs, paw pads, eyes, and tongue. Claws, sclera, and inner ears are ok to use this section for!
Pastel: This zone is allowed in moderation for any part of your bab, There are no restrictions as to where these colors can be used but still should be a smaller portion of your bab.. Pastel and halfling babs take all or most of their coat colors from this section!
Use a bit less: (pastel cusp) This zone is pretty much self explanatory. Available for anywhere on your bab and isn't restricted in any sections but should not be your babs entire coat.
Safety Zone: GO WILD! This is the fun zone, all colors here can be used to decorate your bab! Please make sure gradients aren't grey in between! (gradienting blue and red together or other such colors tend to make really grey in between tones)
Use a bit less:x2: (dull cusp) We come full circle! Available for anywhere on your bab and isn't restricted in any sections but should not be your babs entire coat.

Examples of common bab color allowances! ♥
Dull coats are considered "odd" and are separate from dark coats which are considered "cursed". More information on dull and cursed coats will be added soon! Dull coats are ONLY available via trades or auctions, and do not count as a physical "trait" rarity that can be requested through customs. The darkest browns on the last three babs shown below are examples of cursed colors.
As per the most recent rule ammendments: Browns, like all other colors, are common when vibrant and increase in rarity when they become dull or dark. However, as straight black or grey is added to colors like orange and yellow-orange they appear to lose saturation much quicker than other colors, and as such the allowed common vibrancy for brown babs is a bit more strict, as indicated by the sectioned off area in the image above. The concept of the rules is the same, just a little more limited.
Some colors may look dull brown but fall under the allowed vibrancy of the spectrum, the base coat is a more vibrant orange/brown and gradients to a duller brown at the legs. The spots are dark brown and are considered "cursed" colors. If you're unsure about your bab having a vibrant or dull brown coat please feel free to ask! (i have had a bit of trouble with "brown" in the past and am trying to set solid standards for the colors!)

in order to get a dark brown you do need to have a cursed coat available for your bab, brown coat application alone won't get you those particular colors!
